Incorporating our Faith at Light Consulting

Inspiration

If you’ve spent any time with me, you’ve likely heard how great my God is and how much my family means to me. After that, you’ve likely heard me brag about our team at Light Consulting.

A huge part of our success is that we invite God into our business conversations; we seek Him for guidance and wisdom because we’re humans, and we’re prone to screwing things up sometimes.

From day one, we chose aspirational core values, and who better to aspire to than Jesus himself?

  • Love like Jesus
  • Intentional Living
  • Give Grace
  • Help Others
  • Trust that with Christ, anything is possible

These core values are like bumpers that guide our business and decisions. By being faith-forward, we attract like-minded people to join our team and seek our services. A lot of our business comes from referrals, so we often attract people we align well with. That doesn’t mean we shy away from those who don’t share these same values, but we’re upfront about it so people know what they can expect.

Simply put, incorporating our faith into the workplace means we don’t leave our faith at home. We pray in our meetings, have regular devotions as a team, and are intentional about checking in and sharing what's on our hearts. Recently, our team carried an extra heavy workload, and we all felt the stress. We decided to write down our burdens and pray for them one by one. The Bible says fear not 365 times in the bible. As a numbers person, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that there’s a reminder for every day of the year.

We extend grace to others really well – and are working on giving grace to ourselves. We know that we all need grace, and this reminds us to offer it generously. We pick up the slack when others need it and pitch in as a team - we don’t hear that’s not my job at Light.
Helping others might be our favorite core value. Giving Hearts Day is a holiday around here! Our team regularly shares our time, talent, and treasure with our community, and many serve on local boards. In 2024, our goal was to donate 10% of our top-line revenue!

We got to exercise our final core value in a BIG way in 2024 when we launched Faith Forward. God laid the idea for a Christian business conference on my heart, and we trusted that He would show up. And BOY, did he ever! Through the volunteers, speakers, attendees, funding, and the mountain of other details.

I'm so grateful for the amazing humans I get to work with every day. Together, we're building a business that reflects our faith and makes a positive impact on those around us. If you’re interested in being a part of our team or one of our clients, we’d love to hear from you!
